First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin continues to strengthen the spirit of Virginia’s Women+girls. This week, Mrs. Youngkin attended the Financial Success for Women Summit in Richmond, Virginia. Hosted by Virginia Credit Union and in partnership with the Federal Reserve of Richmond and the VCU Financial Success Center, the summit convened community women business leaders, VCU students, and members of Virginia Credit Union to share financial advice that empowers women with tools to improve their overall financial health. Mrs. Youngkin delivered her opening remarks and emphasized the critical importance of workforce preparedness to the economic well-being of women and their families as they seek employment opportunities across the Commonwealth. The summit included insights and strategies for taking control of finances through budgeting, building wealth, and securing a prosperous future.
This week, Governor Youngkin recognized the over 3,400 Public Safety Telecommunicators in the Commonwealth! They are the first of the first responders that are crucial in saving lives. Governor Youngkin expressed gratitude for their dedication to Virginia’s critical emergency response system.
On loan from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, “Cut Flower Garden” by Nell Blaine is one of several works highlighting the artist’s unique composition of colors and forms. This artistic style is thought to have been influenced by her severe early childhood condition of crossed eyes. A lifelong Richmond resident, Blaine’s life story and #homehistory are shrouded in passion, resilience, and astounding success.
