Governor Youngkin participated in a groundbreaking for the Winchester Cold Storage company, which is expanding in Frederick County. To meet increasing demand, the company will build a new 83,000-square-foot cold storage facility with the capacity for over 13,000 pallets.
He also announced that HP Hood LLC, will invest more than $83.5 million to expand its dairy processing operations in Frederick County. Read more here.
This week, Governor Youngkin signed SB 436 to strengthen Virginia’s workforce to ensure continued success and prosperity in the Commonwealth.
“This bill demonstrates our shared commitment to nurturing a skilled, adaptable, and resilient workforce in the Commonwealth and will create additional apprenticeship opportunities so that more Virginians are on a path to good-paying jobs,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin.
‘You are hired:’ Gov. Youngkin signs new bill to improve Virginia’s workforce development
First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin showed her support for Virginia’s entrepreneurs with a visit to Richmond-based nonprofit Startup Virginia. In this space, innovators can learn, collaborate, and grow their businesses and ideas in an engaging and energetic ecosystem. Startup Virginia provides resources, educational programs, built-in networking, and mentors to founders and innovators; empowering them to reach their full potential and, in return, positively impact Virginia’s growing economy.
Mrs. Youngkin promoted April’s National Volunteer Month through her volunteer efforts with Girls with Pearls at Blandford Academy in Petersburg. This month’s topic focused on financial literacy, equipping girls with essential knowledge about making smart decisions with money. Mrs. Youngkin continues to encourage Virginians, especially women, to get involved in their communities.
