This week, Governor Youngkin launched Building Blocks for Virginia Families to ensure families can choose the early childhood education option that best supports their children in their most formative years and enter school ready to learn. Through Building Blocks for Virginia Families, every eligible child will be able to continue to access high quality options that meet their family’s specific childcare needs and Virginia will remain the national leader in innovative approaches to quality early education and childcare.
The Governor and First Lady also helped load the administration’s Toys for Tots donations. Through the gift of a new toy or book, the Marines’ Toys for Tots programs bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s disadvantaged children. To date, Toys for Tots has distributed 652 million toys to 291 million deserving children.
First Lady of Virginia Suzanne S. Youngkin joined the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) in commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the National Donor Memorial. The memorial celebrates the lives saved and pays homage to donors who gave the precious gift of life through organ donation. The First Lady met with the leadership of UNOS, donor families, donor recipients, and living donors. UNOS is a non-profit headquartered in Richmond, VA.
Adorned for a true ‘Commonwealth Christmas’, Richmond’s Executive Mansion is decorated for the season. The First Lady welcomed multiple groups who traveled from a variety of regions to take in the Williamsburg-inspired decor. Visitors included Ambassadors from Welcome Centers across Virginia along with Virginia Tourism Corporation President and CEO Rita McClenny; several chapters of the Virginia Federation of Republican Women (VFRW); and spouses of United States Marines who are currently stationed at Quantico.
