Community Outreach

Governor Youngkin had a great meeting with Muslim community leaders from across the Commonwealth to discuss issues affecting their communities.

The First Lady's Feature

In recognition of National Arts and Humanities Month,  Governor Glenn Youngkin and First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin recently attended the 2023 Wolf Trap Gala alongside hundreds of arts, music, education, park, and theater enthusiasts.  The evening celebrated the close of a successful summer season at the only National Park for the Performing Arts in the nation. The First Lady currently serves as honorary chair of the Wolf Trap Associates Board.

To kick off Virginia Wine Month, the First Lady announced the second edition of Cornus Virginicus (Latin for Flowering Tree of Virginia), now available.  This limited-release wine project celebrates Virginia’s flourishing agriculture, especially Virginia farmers, growers, and winemakers.  The second edition of Cornus Virginicus is a collaboration between the First Lady, female winemaker Melanie Natoli of Cana Vineyards and Winery, Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Matthew Lohr, and the Virginia Wine Board.  As part of the special initiative, proceeds are given to Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom, a non-profit, statewide educational program that provides resources, training, and support to schools, educators, and volunteers so that they can meaningfully connect children to agriculture.

Boots on the Square

Governor Youngkin had a wonderful time with employees of the Commonwealth at Boots On The Square in front of the Executive Mansion, an event put on by First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin!

#homehistory at Richmond's Executive Mansion

Angel Rodriguez, known to many as the Salsa Guy of Richmond, teaches Virginians about the vast #homehistory of Hispanic and Latin American communities through music. Representing Puerto Rican, Afro-Caribbean, and Mexican traditions, the Governor and First Lady were blessed to have Angel and Tradición Dance Company perform at the Executive Mansion’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in September. Thank you for using the arts to educate and inspire!
