This Week In The Commonwealth

Aug 19, 2023
“Your vote matters, and we’re going to need engagement from everyone interested in moving Virginia forward to be successful. We fundamentally believe Secure Your Vote Virginia is how, together, we can win in 2023 and beyond. Visit: secureyourvotevirginia.com,” - Governor Glenn Youngkin

Secure Your Vote

Everything we’ve accomplished so far – empowering parents, cutting taxes, backing the blue, and jumpstarting Virginia’s economy – is at stake.

We’re competing to win in 2023! We are going to drive early voting and absentee voting, and we are not going to be behind on election day.

Right Help, Right Now

Last Sunday, Governor Glenn Youngkin, along with faith leaders and health officials, discussed the behavioral health crisis at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, organized by VOICE, an interfaith coalition of religious communities and civic organizations in Northern Virginia.

“This isn’t a partisan moment. It’s a chance to say that there’s plenty of money in the system. We can pass a budget that can fund this, and we can get going because I don’t think Virginians should wait any longer,” said Governor Youngkin.

Help Our Neighbors In Need

Donating blood to Virginia’s Red Cross is one of the easiest yet most effective ways to address the blood supply shortage during the summer months.

Let’s come together, schedule a visit and donate: http://rcblood.org/appt.

Homehistory

Virginia artist Barclay Sheaks’ breathtaking and serene painting ‘Watcher by the Rail’ made #homehistory by being featured in The Art Experience at the Executive Mansion. Featuring Sheaks’ wife, Edna, the painting was part of the “Watcher” series — a collection depicting ferry passengers peering attentively at the water. Sheaks’ work is inspired by the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and a river in Poquoson. To learn more about Sheaks and other works in The Art Experience, head to the Executive Mansion website or visit the Executive Mansion in person each Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
